Experience

Built various small and fast language technology models for detection and de-identification of textual personal data (PII) in real time using Python, Spacy, PyTorch, and Ollama.
Set up a FastAPI to integrate such models into a larger system.
Coordinated annotation of test data for the project’s goals and set up the annotation tool Prodigy.

Developed major features in Japanese IO under the guidance of the rest of the team, including mini-lookups for the text in the examples for each lookup card, as shown in the image at the top of this article on Medium.
Worked on features across the entire stack, from writing queries and editing the PostgreSQL database, to writing API endpoints in Java, to creating new components in ReactJS / TypeScript and implementing CSS from designs made in Figma, ensuring proper functionality across various browsers and JapaneseIO’s Chrome Extension.
Performed various small tasks as part of an international team, such as code refactoring, reviewing Pull Requests, bug fixing, and minor UI adjustments.

Developed a web service in Django / Python for the company’s employees.
Integrated the web service with an XML API from another service used in the company.
Provided initial training in the tool for regular users and administrators.
Adapted design choices to meet requirements under GDPR and the Personal Data Act.
Deployed the service on an on-premise Ubuntu server with Apache.
Secured the service with TLS/SSL certificates.
